Lost cat.......Now found

Mona, originally uploaded by Suburbanite05.

We can't find Mona in the house. I think she somehow got out through a door today Sunday or yesterday Saturday - April 19 this weekend. Lost cat black grey tabby in ... Lost Black grey tabby cat front declaw spayed microchip in neck. contact number She was wearing no collar She has a floppy belly weight 9-10 lbs Lost black grey tabby spayed cat

Well, Now it is 11:00pm. I went outside on the back patio one more time before I was about to give up for the night. Calling her name. Saying Isssstttt as she is acustomed to. And guess who meowed at me as she was walking from the backyard grass. Holy Shit. It was Mona. Wait is it....yes you are. I wondered how long she was out there?

To think I drove around the block to see if I would find a dead cat on the street somewhere and walking through my neighbors yard shaking a bag of cat food and tapping on a can of tuna. Well, I'm glad she came back home where ever she was. This is no beginning for being an outdoor cat now.

Code blue

What a beautiful morning. I can feel the heat from the sunny window on my face as I look out briefly to take a quick mental break. We haven't had a warm day over 70F in almost 6 months and I am stuck at work. I must walk outside today only to feel the warmth for but a brief moment.
The sound in the background is the ventilator alarming. It's alarming because it is not connected to the patient. The doctors are bagging him with 100% oxygen through his breathing tube. We are in the middle of a code blue in the Surgical ICU. I help by getting a few meds for the administration nurse but mostly watch as the doctors give cpr on the patient's chest. I know he is not going to make it because he is not responding to a big epi dose and he is maxed on 3 pressors. Life is taken granted sometimes by a lot of people. It's been a long time since we've had a code which is good for the patients. But everytime it happens it makes me examine my own life and wonder what would happen to my family if I was no longer around. I am sure they would be fine. It's a thought I don't like to think much about. I am one not to take life for granted. I like to think I am a Tigger and not an eeyore - referring to the one college professor who is stricken with pancreatic cancer and made the Last Lecture. Anyway, I leave the room and a family member is sitting just outside as she sees staff run in and out. Within a couple minutes the code is called (Tuesday Apr 15).

1st Spring Flowers

We love it when we see our crocus flowers bloom in the front yard. These have been here for several years now and their sight is very welcomed. Even though the weather doesn't feel like spring yet, the sight of the crocus in bloom lets you know warmer weather is just around the corner. And we saw our first honeybee as well. Can't wait for the dog days of summer!

Peanut butter cup

Sam and Tyler came back from running a few errands yesterday. Tyler changed his coins he saved from his piggy bank to cash - just over $40 he saved by digging through Mom and Dad's pockets. So he bought me a large peanut butter cup from the local confectionary shop in town and his little sis a couple chocolate suckers. YummY. Well, actually Sam paid for it so he could save his money :)

Firenze - Santa Maria Novella stazione

Across from the train station, window shopping while killing time before our train leaves. I can go for a piece of that.

Bingen Landesgartenschau 2008

To be in Bingen Germany this summer would be awesome. Too bad the exchange rate is horrendous $1=€.63(€1=$1.57). Maybe we should live in Europe and vacation, no I mean holiday, in the US. Travelling the Rhine, wandering through the riverside villages, having a 1L beer at the Binger Sommergarten - can't get any better than that. Wish we could go back. Instead paid off a credit card and saving to do a little remodeling in the house. Looks like it's Mexico/Caribbean countries for us and maybe a trip to Florida. http://landesgartenschau-bingen-2008.de/index.php?id=90
